On February 16, 2010 (which happened to be Karen's birthday), Karen and I got together with our good Turkey 16 friends Pat and Patty Anderson at our house in Charlotte. We hadn't seen each other for 40 years, but it was as if no time had passed at all. They contacted us when they were making plans to visit Pat's cousin near Charlotte, and we invited them for dinner. Karen fixed a Turkish meal consisting of:  şiş kebab, pilaf, sigara boreği, çeşetli meze, baklava and rakı. It was a great reunion, and our only regret was that it was so short.
