Tim and Nancy Dial Photos from Peace Corps (T-8)
We were trained at Princeton and Robert College in
Istanbul. (Summer of 1965). We were first in Silifke, on the Mediterranean
coast and then in Ankara. During the summer of 1966 we were with a
children's camp in Istanbul.

Kap ıcı

with wife and child, summer 1966
These
photos are from the summer camp in Istanbul (summer of 1966). This
is Mehmet
Kılıç with wife and child. He was the
kapıcı at the dorm where
we stayed I believe that it was is Kadıköy, a ferryboat ride from Istanbul to the
other side of the Bosporus.

Campers, summer camp Istanbul, 1966

The summer camp of 1966 was girls and boys.
The food pictured above was our lunch everyday. Remember the Turkish bread
of those days? It was great for a day and then it got hard as a brick.
I loved the salami and white cheese.

The boys and girls having a foot
race.

My wife, Nancy, is standing behind one of the
little girls in the center of one of the photos.

One of the campers--Nebahat--who stayed by my
wife Nancy and wanted to talk to her.
