1965 picture of the old village mosque (which has been replaced), the adjacent cemetery, and a nearby coffee house.



Winter 1966:  Hüseyin Öztürk (far left) and Süleyman Uzun (in the vest) lived in Çayıriçi Köyü but ran this furniture-making shop in the market town of Tonya.  Here they are joined by several other men from the village, during a snowfall.



Fall 1965:  The 1952 Austin truck belonged to Ahmet Ülüköylü (legs crossed, smoking a cigarette), who hauled logs for the Forestry Department.  The men are relaxing next to the village road, in front of Bayram Bahadir's coffee house.  My landlord's son, Ahmet Karagüzel, is at the far left.
