As I left the village in May 2002, I took these pictures looking back inland (South) across the village, toward the mountains and the yaylas. 




May 2002 view looking South from Karakısrak yaylası, back toward the high peaks that still have some visible snow.



Photo (taken in 2002) of the house that I lived in (on the left) and my landlord's old house (on the right -- a more modern house has replaced it).  The small building in the center is an oven used for drying corn and pears.  Behind it is a traditional ambar, where flour and corn were stored.  The roads visible in the picture were not there in 1965.
