Spring of 2002. One of the old traditional village houses,
with barn, pear trees, and buttercups, where the man who was muhtar in the
mid-1960's had lived.
May 2002: Some traditional yayla summer homes at Karakişrak
yaylası. Çayıriçi
köyü is barely visible in the far background below.
May 2002: a very traditional home on the yayla (note the outhouse), except
for the electric pole and wires.
May 2002: The new village mosque (which was being completed
at the time we visited in 1999).
2002: Hasan Şahin's daughter and
friend are in the ikinci sınıf
and ready to go to school.
May 2002: Hasan Bahadır and Süleyman
Uzun, two old friends whom we knew in the 1960's, relax in front of the
coffee house.
