Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., the National Peace
Corps Association is the nations leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
supporting Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and the Peace Corps community
through networking and mentoring to help guide former volunteers through
their continued service back home. The organization encompasses a network of
over 30,000 individuals and more than 140 member groups. It is also the
longest-standing advocate for an independent and robust Peace Corps and its
values. It is not a part of the United States Peace Corps, which is a

After many years of pure, relentless work,
Heath Lowry's daughter wanted to add some meaning and social activism to
her life.. and iin 2005 with a group of friends in 2005 set up an
organization called Bridges of Hope Project...a New York non-profit
corporation dedicated to support educational projects in Turkey.. In
2006 they were granted 501c3 status by the IRS .. and since then they
have done much considering that they are fully-run by volunteers without
overhead expenses. They have been working primarily with a Vakif
(a 501c3 equivalent non profit) in Turkey, ILKYAR, also an organization
fully run by volunteers, without any overhead expenses.
