The old mosque in Kazancik Koyu, Hatay.

The village tore this mosque down to build a new one shortly after this photo was taken. I rather liked the old minaret. I left before the new mosque was finished but they were planning to build one of the sleeker "rocket ship" style minarets to better compete with the village up the hill. A note on the back of the photo indicates that the muhtar is second from right. The woman is the grammar school teacher. 

There was a lesson there somewhere about resources and priorities, that was not really covered in our RCD training.  -- Patrick Fabian (T-9)
