A few of the ruined houses in Santa have been repaired and are used by
local Turkish villagers as summer yayla homes.

century and at one time had over a thousand houses. Ruins of one of
the village's eight churches are visible in this picture. The village
is located in a remote valley southeast of Trabzon and was abandoned
after the Population Exchange in 1923.
