One of the main roads through Trabzon passes
through the old city walls.
This aqueduct brought water to the Byzantine palace
(visible above the arch).

Trabzon: These 19th century mansions (konaklar) are inside the walled
portion of the old city.
Trabzon: Ortahisar Camii was once the Church of the
Virgin. It was the Panaghia Chrysokephalos church,
dating from the height of the Empire of Trebizond in the 13th century.
